Brian Byrd

President / Principal

Brian has been involved in the multi-unit property management for over 25 years; self-storage since 2002.  In addition to self-storage, Brian is well versed in managing manufactured housing, apartments, and commercial warehouse space.  Before entering into property management, Brian tried to balance earning a business degree, a real estate license, and was on active duty in the United States Army.

Currently Brian oversees the operations, management and marketing of the Landvest portfolio, with the help of his management team.  Brian has been a contributor to Inside Self Storage (ISS) and Self Storage Association (SSA) publications, along with being known as a national speaker on sales training, auditing and employee theft.  Brian is know for his tough, nonsense approach to business.  He has a reputation for being firm, but very fair when dealing with all aspects of business.

In addition to operating Landvest, Brian was a Board Member with the Kansas Self Storage Owners' Association and a former Vice President of the Kansas Manufactured Housing Association.  His experience in the manufactured housing industry is significant.  Brian was involved with a group that took a company, who solely operated manufactured housing, public.  That Initial Public Offering (IPO) was significant to the manufactured housing industry at that time.

When Brian is not working, he enjoys spending time with his daughters (and his first grandchild; born in 2020), and wife of nearly 30 years, at Table Rock Lake.  He is also active, and award winning, Freemason in Kansas and has served in various capacities throughout the bodies of that organization.
