Our Team Rocks! An Interview with Angie.
NAME: Angie J.
LOCATION: Denver, CO
POSITION: Regional Manager (Colorado Security Self Storage Portfolio)
TENURE: Fours Years (2018)
How did your career path lead you to Landvest? After 15 years of multifamily management I wanted a change. I was able to use my experience without dealing with the constant resident issues. If an air conditioning goes down on 4th of July or the toilet overflows you have to go to work in that industry! When your customer lives with you 24/7, the pace is pretty brutal.
What is the best advice you’ve received in your career? Always inspect what you expect!
Which experience(s) in your career influenced who you are today? I have worked for some great management companies. I think Key Management, where I was Director of Marketing, was my biggest influence; I really grew up there. I started there when I was 29 years old and left right before my 40th birthday. The people that worked there helped form my work ethic. To this day I am in touch with many of them.
What is your favorite part of your position? Working with the team!
What is your least favorite part of your position? Customer Concerns can be tough.
What is the most difficult part of your position? Hiring and training the team; it's constant.
If you could only call one member of the Landvest team to answer a question, any question, who would you call and why? Jordan Wright as he is knowledgeable and very calm. Brian Byrd would be second because he knows everything and has strong opinions that I find helpful.
Describe the endeavor you are most proud of while being part of the Landvest team? After four years with Landvest, I think I am proud that most of the managers in the field like working for us.
What would you tell someone that is thinking about joining the Landvest team? I tell people that come to work for us that the company is invested in maintaining the properties. They are also very involved in the day to day management and operations. This means there is structure and guidance to help you succeed at your job.
If you could have only one superpower, what would it be, and why? To able to fly.....I think it would be exciting to be up in the sky and just fly around.
